BuildID: 2000050513 Crash on startup. I get the splash screen, and a window frame for the start page with the title "mozilla.org at a glance", and then an error dialog: title: "mozilla.org at a glance - Mozilla: mozilla.exe - Application Error " Dialog content: "The instruction at "0x60b32f09" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read". Having VC++ installed, if I click "Cancel" to debug..VC gives me the message "unhandled exception in mozilla.exe (GKGFXWIN.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access Violation". Note I experience bug 37792 on the initial startup (after deleting previous Users50, mozregistry.dat, and the install dir files). I experience this bug (not 37792) on subsequent startups (and initial I think). Reproducible: Always Dr watson event log: ------------------------------------ Event Type: Information Event Source: Application Popup Event Category: None Event ID: 26 Date: 5/5/2000 Time: 11:42:17 PM User: N/A Computer: CHLAP Description: Application popup: mozilla.org at a glance - Mozilla: mozilla.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x60b32f09" referenced memory at "0x00000014". Chris Hubick -- are you running win2k with a multiple monitor setup? Also, if you can do this again, can you either submit the talkback report (fill in your email address as above and I can find it), or attach a Dr. Watson log of the crash to this bug report. Thanks.
I am running a single monitor (Sony laptop model pcg-505hs). I sent two talkbacks last night and one just now, using the same email (chris@hubick.com).
Awesome. Thanks for following up. This is a duplicate of bug #38356, in that it is crashing in code for multi-monitor handling, on win2k, when the user does not have a multi-monitor system. [Chris, add yourself to CC: list on 38356 if you'd like]. By the way, bug #37792 which you mention also experiencing, is actually bug #37125 -- despite appearances, it's not a serious error and can be safely ignored; it's just an obsolete DLL that needs to be removed from the mozilla talkback builds. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 38356 ***
