I was trying to investigate bug 383996, this necessitated individually editing each component in core. and theoretically could have necessitated editing each component in the entire installation. default CCs should appear in editproducts just like default owner and default qa contacts do.

I'm not sure about describecomponents. I don't think it's a secret, so I think they belong there too.
I guess you mean 'editcomponents.cgi' instead of editproducts, because editproducts.cgi doesn't display the assignee or the QA contact at all.
