Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070614 Minefield/3.0a6pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070614 Minefield/3.0a6pre Whenever I try to select a Live Bookmark from the Bookmarks sidebar, Mindfield tend to REALLY slow down. So much so that Mindfield, effectively, freezes. I end up having to do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to close the program, then open it, just to get back to normal again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Mindfiled. 2.Open the Bookmarks sidebar. 3.Select, at random, a Live Bookmark or two. Actual Results: Mindfield will REALLY slow down, and, effectively, freeze. You'll have to do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to shut the program down & open it again to get back to normal. Expected Results: You should be able to select a Live Bookmark and have it pop up in Mindfield's browser window without any problems at all, whatsoever. Doing a Ctrl-Alt-Delete reveals that the CPU usage hovers bewteen 98% - 99% when the problem occurs.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070613 Minefield/3.0a6pre I don't see a high CPU usage when I click on a livemark in the sidebar so that it expands or collapses, and then go to Gmail. What did you do to select two livemarks?
FYI: While trying to respond to (In reply to comment #1) > Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070613 > Minefield/3.0a6pre > I don't see a high CPU usage when I click on a livemark in the sidebar so that > it expands or collapses, and then go to Gmail. What did you do to select two > livemarks? > FYI: While trying to respond to your message on BugZilla, I was selecting Live Bookmarks at random, as much as possible, and everything, eventually, got REALLY slow, causing Mindfiled to freeze. Doing a Ctrl-Alt-Delete showed a high CPU usage.

WFM, no high spikes in CPU no matter how fast I click through the Livemarks. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070615 Minefield/3.0a6pre Firefox/3.0 ID:2007061504
WFM, it gets slow only for the moment of loading the page (Sempron 2500+, 1GiB of RAM). Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9a9pre) Gecko/2007101504 Minefield/3.0a9pre Reporter, can you reproduce this? If not, it's probably a duplicate of bug 379729.

Or bug 329534, or not related…

Does it also happen in safe-mode or with a new profile (with only your bookmarks)? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox) http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder
It happens in both instances.
Since the reporter filed also Bug 435072, I think also this bug is a duplicate of bug 329534

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
