Warn when Saved search won't work if I remove tag on which the search depends

Details
Thunderbird 2, Ubuntu Feisty:
1. Create a tag, and mark a bunch of messages using it
2. Create a "saved search" folder, that will find all messages with that tag.
3. Remove the tag
What happens:
The saved search doesn't work. When I click it, nothing happens.
What should happen:
Maybe a warning when removing the tag that some searches depend on it? Or at least some kind of warning when I try to use it, telling me that it needs to be reset.

like what is done when a filter is affected by deleting a folder?
OS: Linux → All

Yes, that would be ideal.

Here are the steps for creating a saved search: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Basics/Using-Saved-Searches/ta-p/16407
For me, after deleting the tag the folder still showed the messages that were tagged previously (only not colored).
Maybe "enhancement" describes this better.
