User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4
Build Identifier: thunderbird/Version 2.0.0.4 (20070604)
if i have "wrap plain text after xx characters" enabled in the extras>settings dialogue it works fine when i compose a mail and send it straight away. when i save it as a draft the breaks are saved not as line breaks after xx characters but as breaks, like i would have hit the enter button. that means when i reopen the message and want to modify it (for example just add a word in a line that's close to xx characters) thunderbird adds the new line break just before xx characters but also keeps the old break after just the next word.
since i prefer to write plain text i can't use the wrap function because editing longer messages is too time consuming. on the other hand not using the wrap function makes a lot of messages hard to read.
for example if i would specify 15 characters and write this message:
"hello mister thunder how are you?"
the wrap function gives me:
"hello mister
thunder how are
you?"
i then save this message and reopen it and edit
"hello dear mister thunder how are you?"
it is displayed as
"hello dear
mister
thunder how are
you?"
and should be
"hello dear
mister thunder
how are you?"
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.enable extras>settings "wrap plain text after xx characters"
2.compose new plain text message
3.save message in drafts and close
4.open message and modify text
Actual Results:
wrong formatted message as described in details
Expected Results:
not saved the old break but only inserted the new one after the specified number of characters
