User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070220 Firefox/2.0.0.2 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.4 (20070706) in previous versions of thunderbird, each message could be "labeled" as one of a variety of possible categories (work, to-do, later, etc). this made it possible for me to make a saved search to find every message that i had labeled: "label - isn't - none". in the current version of thunderbird, the messages can have none, one, or many labels. however, there is no search criteria that you can do to find all un-tagged messages. technically, you can list out all the tags as "tags - doesn't contain - XYZ", but then i would have to edit all my saved searches if i ever created a new tag. see the problem here? useful functionality has been removed. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. there are probably a few ways to add this functionality back in, probably the most consistent with the way you do it now would be to have search criteria called "tags - ... - any tag". then you could say "tags - contains - any tag" or "tags - doesn't contain - any tag". that would fix it for me.
