New messages can not be retrieved with the hotkey (Command-Shift-T) until the File menu is clicked/expanded. This is disruptive to my workflow as I would like to be able to check for new messages without touching the mouse (Command-Shift to switch to Thunderbird, Command-1 to focus the main Thunderbird window, then Command-Shift-T to get new messages)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Prerequisite: Thunderbird process is not started, or Thunderbird process is running and main window is closed
1. Open Thunderbird (but do not expand the File menu)
2. Type the hotkey for "Get all new messages" (Command-Shift-T).
Actual Results:
New messages are not retrieved and there is no visual indication to confirm that the hotkey was typed (Usually the File menu will flash to confirm that a hotkey under the file menu was activated)
Expected Results:
New messages should be retrieved and standard visual indication should be activated without having to click the file menu.
Workaround
1. Open Thunderbird
2. Click once on File menu
3. Get new mail hotkey is responsive until the Thunderbird window is closed
