388778 - highlight own comments in bug report

Description

Hi,

many bugs can have quite long comment lists.  It would be nice if one's own comments were somehow highlighted for example with a different background colour or something.

I'm pretty sure this is a duplicate of a bug i filed a while ago based on a coworker. we decided we wanted each user's actions to get its own class so that he/I could color individual people as we felt like it.

We actually have a general bug for highlighting comments based on particular criteria. This bug would depend on that bug.

I believe that you're talking about show-multiple aka long list, however it's possibly you just mean a normal bug view, or you mean a normal buglist (which doesn't have comments!). ambiguity is bad. if you mean more than one of these, please provide steps and expected results for each (expected results can be in the  form of hand edited html attached using "add an attachment").

Sorry for the delay in reply.

I am not sure I understand the question.  Let's take this ~~bug 388788~~, (correction, bug 388778) for example.  Then this bug is about highlighting the text the original report, comment 1 and comment 6 (this comment) for me and comment 5 and comment 2 for timeless to pick two examples.  Of course, this can only be done for users that are logged in.

The aim is that I can quickly see my own comments because their background is in a shade of gray, for example.

This is a great idea.  It probably wouldn't be too hard to implement for a potential contributor is the BZ devs could provide hints on how to implement.
