Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.5) Gecko/20070713 Firefox/2.0.0.5
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.5 (20070716)
Thunderbird automatically downloads latest updates even when running under a limited user account. Then it tries to install the latest version and fails.
After running Thunderbird with administrator privileges, downloading the update, and installing the update, the limited user profile keeps trying to update. It becomes necessary to delete the Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Thunderbird directory.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run a non-up-to-date version of Thunderbird as a limited user
2. Fail to disable the auto-update feature
3. Profit!
Actual Results:
Thunderbird tries to install the latest version and fails
Expected Results:
The auto update feature should not do anything if running as a limited user.
"Help|Check for Updates" should also be grayed out.
