While the first is merely an annoyance, the other might cause users to choose to delete information needed for the recovery.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
After any crash.

The first sounds like bug 345117 (fixed for Firefox 3.0, work-around: clear your download history) whereas the second is WORKSFORME without more precise steps to reproduce.
Does the second issue also arise when starting Firefox in safe-mode? If so, please verify that Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox" is checked -- Firefox should then do what it usually does at shutdown when it first gets a chance to do it after the crash: at startup.

Reporter: Please try to reproduce as instructed in comment #1 and close this
bug as WORKSFORME if you can't.
