My wife's Thunderbird email crashed when updating to new Thunderbird. . attempt to reinstall Thunderbird gets the following error message

error opening file for writing:
c:\program files\mozilla thunderbird\mozmapi32.dll


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.download new Thunderbird
2.attempt to install
3.halts partway through installation with the above message



it should have installed the newest release of Thunderbird, as happened on my computer but it has effectively blocked her from access to her e-mail

we took the problem to a local computer whiz and he fixed it. . removed the offending dll, deleted the old Thunderbird and reinstalled and everything works fine now

Fixed mean in bugzilla a code change (patch/fix) in Thunderbird.
