User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a7) Gecko/2007080209 GranParadiso/3.0a7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a7) Gecko/2007080209 GranParadiso/3.0a7 webpages which has static backgrounds or static images (such as in gmail when a new mail in the same conversation arrives) cause a problem in firefox when scrolling, in every type of graphic driver and brand. This happens only in linux, windows does not have this problem Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. visit http://www.oakparkfoundation.org/ 2. scroll up & down Actual Results: very jerky scrolling Expected Results: fluid scrolling This happens in firefox-granparadiso and in firefox 2.0.6 using MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1 the problem is lower This happens with and without smooth scrolling. With smooth scrolling the problem is lower
There is a similar problem in long dropdown menus, the scrolling is really jerky even there. I don't know if it is the same problems, but when I scroll the webpage is static... I use the gnome version of firefox-granparadiso (with gtk menus)
Similar to bug #369557.
I don't know if it's similar. I only know that from windows XP (but the other bug is windows 2000) I don't have this problem at all. It is strictly a linux problem
Anyway scrolling in the link supplied in the other bugreport is incredibly slow here in linux
definitely. thanks
