User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/522.11.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0.3 Safari/522.12.1 Build Identifier: 8.0.0b1 Please override/enhance Penelope's/Eudora's current contextual menu system. Please integrate it with the services OS X offers. I use OnMyCommand (which is totally awesome!) <http://free.abracode.com/cmworkshop/on_my_command.html> to insert a few menus in various programs. The items I had in place when I used Eudora are not there any more when I context click in the new Penelope/Eudora. :-( Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Context click (aka right click, control click) on selected text, a mail message, etc... Note the menu that pops up contains none of the standard OS X offerings. Actual Results: Pop up, Contextual Menu *without* OS customizations. Expected Results: Pop up Contextual Menu *with* standard OS X items, and my own customizations from ~/Library/Contextual Menu Items/ I marked this as an enhancement, but really want to mark it as a Major broken feature since the old version of Eudora passed through OS contextual menu items in its own rendering of the contextual menu, and now that great feature is gone/broken. However, I'm not sure since some might say it's an addition to the current implementation, so...I marked it as an enhancement...(so I am trying to see the glass as half full, but my passion for its implementation is as strong as wishing to see a critical crashing bug fixed. :-) Allowing OS contextual menu items to show up in Eudora's contextual menus allows me (you, anyone), to customize Eudora even more, as well hook in to our workflow in a powerful way. OnMyCommand allows one to pipe UNIX commands together, send things to shell scripts, terminal windows, AppleScripts, create windows, etc..., with TONS of flexibility. If you are a power user, you owe it yourself to check out the OnMyCommand contextual menu plug-in, it's open source and free, etc... <http://free.abracode.com/cmworkshop/on_my_command.html> Sorry if this sounds like a tacky advertisement and unrelated, but I love both of these, and want them to work together again. Thank you very very much.
I agree that it would be nice for things like OMC to work within Penelope. I use OMC as well. I think this is an artifact of Penelope / Thunderbird being cross-platform. OS X integration is certainly high on my personal list (Address Book, Keychain, etc.).

See also https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104331 (reported 2001) and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367867 (reported 2007) both apparently concerning System Services (Services menu and more) in Mac OS X. I have suggested that 367867 be closed as a duplicate of 104331 and votes from the duplicate transferred to the original.
