I've set up a tinderbox doing venkman builds regularly (currently reporting to MozillaTest and uploading to my home dir on stage for testing), but we have no place for the files to go on FTP. I think that other in-tree extensions might want some place to put up such (nightly) testing versions as well, so I think a generic directory for extensions would be better than one for venkman specifically. I think extensions/ might be a good fit, but it could have a name that is even a bit scarier for users, like ext-test/ if reusing the extensions/ dir naming that has existed in the past for AMO is not wanted. Only testing versions will go there, releases will go to AMO like they should.
Oh, I almost forgot: Regarding ownership of the dir, for now, I (or my tinderbox coming with my login) will probably be the only one uploading there, but it might make sense to have an own group so other people could be added for uploading there later, if other extensions decide to go a similar route.
Can someone please look into this?
Created /home/ftp/pub/extensions/ and set ownership to kairo. You'll need to file a bug on getting the http://ftp.m.o --> http://releases.m.o redirect removed for extensions/ and themes/. ftp:// works in the meantime. I don't think we need to organise a group until there is more than one account is uploading for any extension. Close this is out if that's OK.

OK, the directory is there, thanks. Bug 414598 filed for the redirect.
