This started about three weeks ago, maybe four. When I quit Minefield with tabs open, restarting the app either fails to reopen any tabs at all, or opens tabs I had open some time before I quit (but not the ones I had open on quit). The app is successfully quitting with no errors in console and no crash log generated.
I have also seen this multiple times recently. Also (maybe related?) bug 402618. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b2pre) Gecko/2007111805 Minefield/3.0b2pre ID:2007111805
Nominating for blocking because this is a major advertised feature and people won't like it if it doesn't work.
Flags: blocking-firefox3?
fwiw, I've never had session restore work correctly since upgrading to 3.0b1rc1 (and then nightlies since then).
this seems like it could be a dupe of bug 393813 from the sound of things.
blocking to track, but pretty sure this is a dupe/related
Depends on: 393813

from justdave over irc: [4:51pm] justdave: 1) Get a software update. 2) click restart now. 3) get prompted that Minefield will restore my session after restarting. 4) click Restart. 5) watch as the app restarts and all the windows are gone. [4:51pm] justdave: and yes, it happens every time [4:52pm] justdave: I've got 5 windows open with several tabs in a few of them right now, and looking at the restart dialog right at this moment [4:52pm] justdave: do I snag said file before or after or both? [4:56pm] justdave: looking at the contents of that file before I restart, I do see what looks like a good representation of all the windows/tabs I have open.
Immediately before the above: 16:50:40 < dietrich> does it happen every time for you? 16:50:47 < dietrich> if so, i'd love to see your sessionstore.js :) Any answers to my questions there that you pasted in? :) I've still got that dialog open waiting to find out.
ok, he answered on IRC, said grab it before... I saved a copy, hit restart, and it actually worked this time. Always does that when you get the repair guy present to diagnose it doesn't it? :) I'll remember to save a copy of that file before restarting again in the future though, and let you know when I get one before a failure again.
FWIW, session restore has been working reliably for me since the fix for bug 393813 landed. The problems were obviously related. Sheppy, how about you?
I've not had this problem happen for a while, so it does seem like it may be fixed.
Eric: Please close this bug as WORKSFORME if you haven't seen this anymore since December.
