BUILD: Current trunk build on Linux. Haven't tried other OSes STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1) Load the URL in the URL field 2) Right-click on the link and release 3) When the context menu appears, hover one of the options (any option will do) but do not select it. 4) Wait a few seconds. EXPECTED RESULTS: Nothing happens. The option you are hovering is highlighted ACTUAL RESULTS: The tooltip for the 'title' attribute comes up. If you happen to be hovering the second item in the context menu, its highlighting goes away and you can't select it, since you're now hovering the tooltip and not the menuitem. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: In practice what this means is that selecting the context menu item can "magically" fail if you happen to do so right as the tooltip comes up. Sadly, the timings are such that I hit this pretty much every time I try to open a bugzilla footer query in a new tab. REGRESSION RANGE: This regressed from bug 396869 (verified by locally commenting out the return added to nsEventStateManager.cpp: that made the problem, go away).
Flags: blocking1.9?
It is not good, but I have the exact problem with Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 trunk. Backing out the patches of bug 396869 and bug 405094 doesn't resolve it for me.
Very odd... backing out bug 396869 definitely fixed it for me, at least with Seamonkey. I didn't check in Firefox.
I think I misunderstood the bug description. bz, I think you didn't apply the patch of bug 405094. It resolved this problem. If so, it is a dupe of bug 405094.
> bz, I think you didn't apply the patch of bug 405094. Hmm. I was sure I'd tested a 2007-12-05 build, but now I can only reproduce with 2007-12-02 builds or earlier... Looks like a duplicate indeed. Sorry for not noticing the other bug. :(
