In bug 403260 we expose active state if ARIA widgets has 'activedescendent' property. We should expose the state on XUL widgets (like xul:tree, xul:listbox, xul:richlistbox), possibly on HTML widgets (list html:select) and on similar ARIA widgets that do use 'activedescendent' property. At least we should expose this state on widgets which items may be focused but selected. We can rely on role to understand whether we should expose the state or not.
