User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build Identifier: 1.5.0.14 I have my options set to notify me before installing a software update. I have several of my accounts set to limited access to try to prevent unintentional installs from emails. On occasion I will agree to have a Thunderbird update install, forgetting that I am using a limited XP user account. The update tries to install, and than stops (as expected) with a message noting (not exact test) that the update can not be completed since the user account does not have full rights, and to retry with proper access.... This I understand. but once this message appears- there is no way to exit from the update- clicking on either the 'ok' button in the update error message dialog window or the X box on the top right corner of the update error message dialog window- does not cancel the update, but keeps the update process running and trying to perform the update that it can not do- Due to the XP user account) is limited and does not have install rights. I have had to manually shutdown (by unplugging the PC) to get out of this update install loop) suggestion- there should be an easy method to stop the update process if the update was opted for my mistake when using an xp limited rights account. The update does work correctly if done under an admin XP account. I posted a similar issue for firefox earlier today thank you Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.try to do a thunderbird software update when s igned into XP using a limited access user id. 2. 3. Actual Results: see details above software update should have a cancel update option, if there is a problem with install rights.
