User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.9 (20071031) delete inbox only when receive certain email or specific email with viruses. when we receive this specific email we cannot open any email inside inbox folder. when we re-started thunderbird the inbox was empty. tried to save the culprit email but cannot save. five computers already affected by this virus. upgraded to the latest version but still the same. the subject was Re: Delivery Server, Sender 471be23b.9040405@jkt.itochu.co.jp Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.receive certain email 2.all inbox emails cannot view but the list still there 3.when re-started thunderbird the inbox was empty
This is unfortunately a problem with several Anti-Virus programs that do not bother to parse the standard unix mailbox format that predates PC's and the whole anti-virus category of software :-( If your anti-virus only "quarantined" your mailbox you may be able to get it back. Clearly, this is a problem of the anti-virus software, not Thunderbird. If the anti-virus filter quarantines the Inbox, thus effectively moves it out of the profile, nothing Thunderbird can do about it. -> INVALID (not a bug)
