Firefox only does very cursory checks on extension compatibility that basically just amount to "Does this extension claim that it is compatible with me?"

whoops, got distracted looking for a dupe. there are 25 bugs matching summary:google summary:toolbar alone and of course dupes are likely closed so that's less than a quarter of all matching bugs. :( There doesn't seem to be anything relevant in ALL summary:google summary:toolbar :extension -> VERIFIED
