Sometimes the icons on the left side of the download manager window (indicating the type of downloaded file) are missing. This happens to me every 10th time or so (this is _very_ erratic) I open the download manager. So far, I don't see any clear pattern. I have seen missing icons in other places as well (again, most of the time they are there, sometimes they are missing), for example earlier today in the quit confirmation dialog. I am aware that this report is not very helpful without clearer steps to reproduce, but I wanted to report this anyway in case someone else is seeing this as well. Elmar, which distro/window manager, etc?
Debian testing (lenny) with Gnome 2.20, my window manager is metacity.
Do you have libgnomeui?
Yes (version 2.20.1). I have a fairly complete installation of Gnome 2.20.
I've seen something similar, and that is that the Download Manager icons sometimes don't appear on an active downloads until you pause and resume them; is this some uninitialized value? I can reproduce with Ubuntu 7.04 with trunk.
Maybe related to bug 355461?
(In reply to comment #7) > Maybe related to bug 355461? I don't think so. IIRC this started when the system (= Gnome) icons were enabled in the download manager on Linux. I never saw this problem on Firefox 2.
I see this consistently on Ubuntu 7.10 64-bit, with FF 3.0b5 (32-bit)
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100218 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.6 This was confirmed on trunk recently (see LP bug). Apparently this isn't happening on Windows Vista with 3.6 (See LP Bug). I get this in 3.6 for images and compressed file formats. As of now in my download list, I have with missing icons: .tiff .xml .zip .bz2 .png .txt .jpg But, the following do have icons: .pdf .gz .ico .html .patch .asp .jsp .sh
