User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b2) Gecko/2007121120 Firefox/3.0b2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b2) Gecko/2007121120 Firefox/3.0b2

When I run this link, the FireFox UI ( buttons, menus ) start to black out.

It is as if the UI elements aren't responding to refresh messages.

This *might* be related to cairo, or to the plugin priority.

This does NOT occur with FireFox 1 or 2, only with FireFox Beta 2 ( and the Beta3 build from 13th Jan 2008 )

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run the link on Windows

Actual Results:
The interface begins blacking out almost straight away

Expected Results:
The interface should remain visible
Here's one of the URLs that isn't working - it didn't seem to appear in the info above.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre) Gecko/2008011223 Minefield/3.0b3pre

WFM - with 100% CPU.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing...

It gets progressively worse - especially if you switch to another app and then come back to it. If you have a 2nd window open ( new window or tab ), these become completely blacked out.

When you run the demo, try moving over some of the buttons to see if they black out.

I CONFIRM THIS BUG - REALY PAINFUL !!!
Attachment #349531 - Attachment description: Firefox window while blacking-out occures due to but in Shockwave movie handling → Firefox window while blacking-out occures due to bug in Shockwave movie handling
This bug has been identified by Director community, seems to be related to using DirectX 9 renderer (from the Shockwave perspective). From my tests, this problem has been introduced in Firefox 3.
http://www.directorforum.com/showthread.php?t=3662

Example Shockwave movies that are causing the described issue in FF3, but work correctly in FF2.

http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer/mountainbike_game/

It basically renders many Shockwave apps unusable.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011913 Firefox/3.0.6

I confirm the bug in:
http://staff.dasdeck.de/valentin/tmp/envTest11.html
http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer/mountainbike_game/

But not in:
http://www.candointeractive.com/multiuser/2/

Very nasty issue!
Hi,

Some time ago I created another bug report on the same issue:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476962

The problem is - neither report has got "confirmed" status, so it is not really analysed by Mozilla developers. Can we do anything to change its status to "confirmed" finally?

Rgs,
Ziggi
I also reported on this issue for Mac OS X (although the bug is filed under Windows for some reason):

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449118
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090702 Minefield/3.6a1pre

WFM here.
Does this still happen in firefox 3.6.6 or later in a fresh profile?

Seems to be working (at least on Mac OS X) again! Good job.
Tried it in Firefox on Windows as well, also seems to be working fine there.
No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.8 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
