The location bar dropdown needs a tooltip.


Alex: suggestions on what it should be?  You and I talked about this a while back, when I submitted my location bar test plan for review, but I never got around to filing the bug... :-(

There's Bug 406280 for seeing long URLs and possibly long titles would be nice too in the tooltip.

I actually meant the down-arrow; guess that's called the dropmarker?

What does the dropdown show when you click on the dropmarker?  Is it now the sites with highest frecency?  

There's one bug in that list that I haven't visited in a while and it's still there.  So I guess it's there because of the number of times I visited it.

I'll follow up here once we are sure what the behavior is going to be, right now it is a combination of frecency and adaptive learning, in which case a tooltip like "Frequently visited Web Sites" while an over simplification, would probably work ok.

This is WONTFIX as far as I can tell.  Its a dropmarker and a more or less standard widget on Windows/Linux, and I see no reason at all for it to have a tooltip.
