When running FF3 on Fedora 8, some images on some web pages are invisible (not drawn), e.g. the screenshots here: http://ventnorsblog.blogspot.com/2008/02/fare-thee-well-brethren.html
It seems to be that alpha channels are being rendered over the top of the image as plain white, or something similar: if I download one of the screenshots, open it in the GIMP and remove the alpha channel, then try opening both the original and the re-saved version in FF3, only the re-saved version displays, the original one just shows a white page.
This bug has been around for a couple of months, and I have seen it on three different Fedora installs, but I couldn't seem to find a dup of the bug here.
I have all the latest released package updates for Fedora 8. A system with Fedora 9 development also has the problem. Also, eog and WebKit-gtk correctly render the image, so it is probably not a gdkpixbuf problem. konqueror renders fine too.
I would post a screenshot, but it's not that interesting :) Just imagine that instead of screenshot images in the above blog post, there are just gaps between the blocks of text.

PS curiously, if the screen update timing is just right, sometimes you can see an image partially load, and then it suddenly goes white and disappears. Normally though it just doesn't show.

A screenshot showing the buttons at the top of facebook being displayed as plain white. I moused over "Networks"; the mouseover image is displayed fine.

I just updated FF3 to the latest nightly build, moved my .mozilla directory, and started in safe mode, as advised in a related but different bug (bug 422655), and it didn't fix this problem. The images at the top of facebook are still invisible.

Here's another page with a broken image, the first screenshot in this post:

Is what you're seeing related to bug 411831? In particular, see the attachments. Try adding
Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps"
to the Device section of your xorg.conf file. Can you still reproduce this bug?

Yes! This fixes the problem. Thank you, marking as a dup.
