The snooze icons in the new alarm dialog have a light grey background. Probably they are not transparent or something like that.
Works for me, cannot confirm. Check mark and cross mark icons are transparent. Try setting the windows color theme to e.g. some high contrast theme like white on black background. You are probably just using a theme that defines a different background color for buttons and menus. (Similar to Bug 394565).
No, I'm using the default theme.
Please see this screenshot showing Sunbird (using default theme) but with a different Windows color scheme. As you can see the buttons have a black background -> icons are already transparent.

In my opinion this bug should resolved INVALID because the background colors used are delivered by the Operating System. (same with Bug 394565)
For me it looks like INVALID, too.
I have the same problem because I chose a color different from default one on my Win XP.
For the same reason I had problem described in bug 394565 resolved with fix in bug 429101, so I did the same with this issue and it works on my PC, though I don't know if it has "sides effects" with some Thunderbird's themes.

Sets the background color to transparent

I don't think there are side effects, r=philipp
