confirmed from reporter reports:
"...The site loads just fine but when you highlight over the character profile items (this applys to everyone on the site) it will only show "loading" and never really load. Is there any fix to this? This did work in firefox 2.0"
nominating until we can figure out if its core or evangelism and understand how widespread it might be...

is this a possible dup of other tooltip bugs that we know about?

This is a useragent problem. When I change it to e.g. Firefox 1.5 the tooltips load fine. Tested on Windows XP.

Does that make this a tech evang bug? Are they looking for "Firefox" (making this a blocker of bug 334967) or specific versions?

Can someone please answer Comment #3? Otherwise, I'm going to minus this per Comment #2.

I did the reverse. running fx 2.0.0.12 set the UA to be firefox 3 beta 3 and loaded the page. that also surfaces the bug and makes tooltip only show loading.
so this is evang. maybe doug has some buddies that can help launch a wow attack this weekend to overthrow the evildoers that aren't respecting gecko in the UA...

WoW armory item tooltips are now working for me, with a user agent containing Firefox/3.
It works spoofing something like the UA that will be in Firefox 3 final, and it works with Firefox 3 beta 5, but still doesn't work with a minefield user agent, but I guess we can live with that.
Marking fixed.

Reopening per bug 409768 comment 26 and 27 (which I completely accept). Although I'm not sure if this should be a dupe of that (there is a European site and a US site, but they use the same code)

It was never fixed :(

The WoW armory has now been replaced with a new site, and as far as I've tested, the new site works with various user agents without "Firefox".
Not sure of the appropriate resolution for TE bugs when the site goes away...

For future reference, we've generally used FIXED (by death/redesign of site).

No -- FIXED means "A fix for this bug is checked into the tree and tested." That definitely didn't happen here.
If the site dies/changes, we use WORKSFORME and/or INCOMPLETE depending on the situation, from my experience. WORKSFORME seems reasonable in this context. Restoring that resolution.

Oh, sorry -- I missed that this is a Tech Evang bug. In that case, site-redesign does sound like "FIXED" is appropriate. :) Sorry for bug-churn.
