Hi,
  For at least 6 months something has happened to Thunderbird in downloading.  Even though I have selected the choice of putting all downloads in the download folder, TB drops everything onto my desktop.  It has really become a super nuisance.  I just dowmloaded v.20012 and it does the same thing.  I've selected the choice, "ask me for each download" and that doesn't work either.  Help!

Steps to Reproduce:
1.download from an e-mail
2.

Actual Results:  
document is placed on the desktop, not in the download folder, or when I click on "ask me" it still places it on the desktop.


I think that Firefox does the same thing.
