Once bug 372786 is fixed, something needs to be fixed to recognize these weird directories and zip them up. See that bug for details.
Not sure whether this is a mailnews/ bug or a toolkit bug. Filing as a Tb bug because it's the primary use case, as per recommendation from dmose.

retriaging to make consistent with bug 372786, even though I would really like this fixed.

Moving from wanted‑thunderbird3.0a1+ flag to wanted‑thunderbird3.0a2? flag since code for Thunderbird 3 Alpha 1 has been frozen.
Flags: wanted-thunderbird3.0a1+ → wanted-thunderbird3.0a2?

I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but isn't there a possible security exploit here? Anyone could fake an attachment that looks like a thunderbird-silently-zipped file and trigger us to open it. God knows what could happen when you unzip a random zip file.
I would argue to just let it be zipped, and work on making thunderbird user-friendly when it comes to helping the user decompress compressed attachments.

Hakan, is there anything left to do here? (note that this bug isn't about _unzipping_, so I don't think comment #3 applies.

I thought this bug was about automatically unzipping received "autozipped" bundles. If not, I guess there is nothing left to do? Bundles are always zipped on send-time.

No, I think that would be a different bug. "zip up" to mean implies zipping, not unzipping.

Hm, then wasn't this a dupe of bug 372786 in the first place? At least thats the implementation now. Oh well...
