User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032619 Firefox/3.0b5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032619 Firefox/3.0b5 When about 3/4 or more of the screen is used the down scrolling arrow on initial pages either disappears or occupies the same space with the expansion area. This usually doesn't happen with linked pages. It occurs whether the up arrow is at the top or bottom of the scroll bar. The down scrolling arrow works properly when about 3/4 of the available area or less is used. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open any URL with Firefox. 2.Expand page with expansion area in lower right corner 3.Down arrow has disappeared or occupies the same space as the expansion area an does not function Actual Results: See above Expected Results: When initial Firefox page is opened and the page is expanded to nearly full screen the down arrow should continue to function. This has been a problem during most of Firefox 2 as well as the various Firefox 3 betaX releases.
today's build - Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008042204 Minefield/3.0pre Can not reproduce - Steps to Reproduce: 1. set FF Browser window to 3/4 of monitor screen 2. Entered http://boston.com/ 3. press enter 4. Boston.com appears with both horizontal and vertical sliders 5. resize the FireFox window - the H & V sliders vanish if the screen is big enough but work OK if you resize the srceen to a smaller window 6. note some sites do not have sizing - see http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
I suspect most users want the whole screen open. The problem still persists in RC3. Someone of you said this was difficult to solve. Perhaps, but it has been going on for all of FF3 releases and the later FF2 editions. It is irritating because scrolling with the mouse on the scroll widget is jerky or too fast in most instances. For instance, there is no horizontal scrolling bar and the down scrolling arrow doesn't work on this page. Mac OS 10.5.3
