RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 345832

People

(Reporter: xlator, Unassigned)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14
Build Identifier: version 1.5.0.14 (20071210)

If I retrieve my mail from an IMAP server, and the mail contains (a big) attachment, then it is downloaded twice: first when I click on the mail's title line on the message list, then a second time when I want to open the attachment.

So I have to wait twice for the attachment to be downloaded, which is not nice.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Send a mail to an IMAP mail server with big attachment (e.g. an AVI file)
2. As recipient, click on the mail title in the mail header list pane.
3. You have to wait a long time while the mail is downloaded.
4. Then right click on the attachment filename and select Open.
5. You have to wait for the download time again.

Actual Results:
The attach was opened at last.

Expected Results:
As apparently the attach is downloaded even after I read the mail body,
it should be cached and not needed to be downloaded when I want to open it.
Same as bug 399200, which resolved as duplicate of bug 235942, which in turn resolved as duplicate of bug 345832.
