User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080416 Fedora/2.0.0.14-1.fc8 Firefox/2.0.0.14 Build Identifier: I just upgraded to 2.0.0.14 from (I think) 2.0.0.12-1.fc8 (ie I'm a FC8 user using YUM for updates). I access a remote IMAPS server that requires client certs. Since the upgrade I am getting contunually prompted to send my certificate - even though: a> I only have one b> the server is asking for client certs signed by the same CA my client cert is signed by c> under previous releases, it automatically sent it. Advanced->Certificates appears to have no area below the "View..", "Revoke...", etc buttons. I'm sure it used to be identical to Firefox and allow you to choose to send a cert automatically, or prompt? That's gone now. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. connect to IMAPS server that requires client certs 2. 3. I hope this was an oversight, as I'm getting prompted to resend my cert all the time now - i.e. every time the IMAPS TCP connection is closed due to inactivity/network changes/etc TB has to start a new connection, and up comes the popup.
I copied the string "Select Automatically" which Firefox uses for security.default_personal_cert, and restarted TB - that fixed the problem. However, it doesn't change the fact that it used to be a checkbox, and that under 2.0.0.12 it was set to automatic - but somehow was changed to "prompt" under 2.0.0.14 Jason
Version: unspecified → 2.0
(In reply to comment #1) > However, it doesn't change the fact that it used to be a checkbox Funny how fickle memory can be - I don't see any evidence that Thunderbird has ever had any UI for the pref (other than what's in my tree right now, for the trunk).
