Seen while testing Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008051202 Firefox/3.0.
STR:
1. Go to an individual history entry via Show History
2. Note the screenshot. I can select the name and since the field is active it appears as if you can edit the field.
Expected: Should be greyed out

Note that you have to click on the Name field (to select it) to see
this problem.
Something similar happens on both Windows and Linux (in today's trunk
nightlies) -- a non-blinking text-entry cursor appears when you click
on the Name field. Though the problem is less obvious on those
platforms, because the Name field doesn't also get a focus ring (as it
does on OS X).
Might there be a single way to fix this on all three platforms (by
changing the high-level styling of this field)?

Hardware: Macintosh → All

Using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090113 Shiretoko/3.1b3pre and the trunk build from today, I still see the bug present.

Marcia, the field "appear like" you can edit it, or you can really edit the name?

Yes, on mac you can select the field and highlight the text, so it makes it look as if you can actually edit the name. Using Windows XP, that field is greyed out and appears correct.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
