Fx3rc1, Mac OS X 10.4.11, Litmus test case 4154. When you switch the feed preference in the Preferences/Applications - feed handler, while you are in a feed UI page, the change is not reflected in the page. Steps: 1. Assuming you have not set a default feed reader, go to: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TechCrunch - You should see the feed UI for that page prompting you to select a feed handler to subscribe to the feed 2. Go to the Preferences and select the Applications tab. Search for "feed". 3. When the Web Feed content type selection comes up, toggle the Action dropdown to a different feed handler. Expected: You should see the feed handler change reflected in the drop-down in the feed UI page for that url. Actual: No change.
Running the BFT on RSS I saw something very interesting in this regard. When I tried to set NewsLife as my default reader through the Feed Preview UI, it did not take (it kept switching back to Live Bookmarks). When I finally set it via the Preferences, it held. This is using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008053008 Firefox/3.0.
