I think there is a focus problem.

I've tested with Windows XP and Windows Vista.
In the bookmark-management I only can sort by name about the view. But this change takes no effect in the bookmark-list in the browser.
Partial, I can't mark the option "sort by name" in the bookmark-management. If I can mark it, it takes no effect. Neither in the bookmark-management, nor in the bookmark-list.
Duplicate of bug 400447.

It works for me with the latest trunk. Can you retest the bug with it?

yes if you do Sort By Name you are sorting the bookmarks INSIDE the folder where you opened the context menu.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
