I can add more, but upon closing and restarting TB, new cards no longer there (reverts back to 77 original entries). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to PAB. 2. Add new entries (new card). 3. Close PAB, exit TB. 4. Restart TB. Actual Results: New card entries not included. Expected Results: New card entries should be there.
Given that I have a test address book with more than 5000 entries, I very much doubt your assertion that it is limited to 77 entries. So, some thoughts: - Could you make a backup copy of your .mab files (abook.mab will be the personal address book), in case any of this "fixes" the problem. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird for more info. - What happens if you delete a card then restart Thunderbird, does it come back and you still get 77 entries? - Have you checked to see if the file is read-only? - Presumably you are not low on disk space? - What happens if you copy the 77 entries to a different address book (via drag and drop), then add some more to that different address book?
Mark, thanks for your help. Here's what I found out: 1. If I delete a card, then restart, it does NOT come back. But if I start adding cards, it'll take as many as I care to input (I added about 10 more, just to see). But upon restart, none of them come back past the 77 limit. 2. No, abook.mab is not checked as read-only. I checked under Advanced Attributes--under Archive and Index attributes, and it says, "File is ready for archiving" (this box was checked, I didn't change it). 3. After copying the entries to a new book, yes, I can add more cards (and they remain after restarting T-bird). Thanks again for your help! C.
Chuck, any chance you could send me the old .mab for analysis? If I take a look at it, I may be able to determine the problem.
No response from reporter, so resolving as incomplete. Reporter, please reopen if you can provide the .mab book to Mark (or, Mark, if he did, could you note that, please?).
