User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 I upgraded my 2.x release to 3.0 RC2, and am now unable to install extensions. I have tried both the Piclens and Previews extensions from the above site, as well as other from AMO. The extension manager loads, shows it is downloading, and as soon as the download is complete it says: ------------------------- Firefox could not install the file at [complete url of extension.xpi] because: Unexpected installation error Review the Error Console log for more details. -203 [OK] ------------------------- When I open the Error Console, I see the following error: ------------------------- Error: e.location.getItemLocation(e.id) is undefined Source File: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js Line: 4007 ------------------------- Installing these extensions works fine on a clean install of 3.0RC2 on my laptop, but not on an upgrade install. All of my other extensions are disabled as they are not 3.x compat yet so they should not be interfering. Reproducible: Always
All Fused described is happening to me.

Can you look in your computers files in C:\Archivos de programa\AVG8 to see if it exists and what is in there. Did you used to have AVG installed and have since uninstalled it?
(In reply to comment #8) > Can you look in your computers files in C:\Archivos de programa\AVG8 to see if > it exists and what is in there. Did you used to have AVG installed and have > since uninstalled it? > AVG8 does not exists anymore, I formated the hard drive and never installed it again. I tryed to delete the extension from my Firefox but I couln't. The same happens with several other extensions as well. Sonia.
Ok thanks, if you delete the extensions.rdf and extensions.cache files from your profile folder then Firefox should recover and you will be able to install extensions again. I think I have enough details to be able to link this with other issues now.
