User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
Browser: Firefox 3.0 RC2
OS: Windows Server 2008
Hardware: Core 2 Duo MacBook (Boot Camped)
Every so often, when I type a URL into the location bar, I am unable to hit the Enter/Return key to load the page. Additionally, clicking the little right-pointing arrow at the end of the text field does not load the page.
Interestingly, I can still use the search box and enter key. This issue seems to apply only to the location bar text field itself.
This condition occurs until I completely exit out of Firefox and relaunch it. It happens several times a day.
I believe, but cannot completely confirm, that this also occurs with all test versions of Firefox 3.0 under Mac OS X 10.5 on a Core 2 Duo MacBook.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use Firefox under my hardware/spftware conditions
2. Wait.
3. Boom!
Actual Results:
N/A
Expected Results:
The Enter/Return key should always work, obviously.

Same problem here, it's very annoying. The return key stops working in the location bar. Only work-around is to restart browser.
Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 32bit
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; nb-NO; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008071719 Firefox/3.0.1
I think it's caused by AVG Safe Search. If you have that, try turning it off. Worth the try. And for me, the enter/ return button didn't work at all, but the "Go" arrow did.
Today is my first time encounter this problem. I'm running Windows Vista Enterprise at work, and I only encounter this at my work computer so far. I do NOT have any virus scanning software or delici.us installed so I don't think this is related.

I feel that this issue occurs when user resumes saved session in firefox.
I.e...
i opened my firefox version 3.5.4 & started browsing with max 7 tabs opened... then later once i finished browsing.. i closed my firefox main window... it showed me a message popup - "Do you want firefox to save your tabs for the next time to start"... i clicked "SAVE AND EXIT"..... then later in the afternoon.. i opened my firefox back again to resume browsing with all my previous tabs intact & loaded..... then i opened a new tab and typed address in the URL Address bar and pressed "ENTER"... my ENTER button did'nt work this time.
Hope this might help.. :D
