The 4th link is not exactly related, as it pertains to image scaling and is specific to Firefox 3.

The relevant bugs for that 4th link are:
Bug 394103 (work around bug in X by restricting scaling to >=192dpi)
Bug 434157 (undo bug 394103 for Windows/Mac)
Bug 426788 (discontentment with bug 434157)
I've seen enough of this today to make this critical.
Severity: normal → critical
I don't know whether the Windows section actually does anything, but it seemed to help in this thread, which is clearly Windows.

According to kb.mz.o, layout.css.dpi has no effect on Windows... unless there was a change in behavior that never got documented.

Another Windows user had this problem and fixed it with this solution. There are probably more of these:

I can reproduce it on Windows.
1) Set Windows dpi to something other than 96 (I'm at 120dpi now),
2) Change layout.css.dpi in Firefox to something larger than yours (e.g. 150)

Bo, do you think a link to that article should be posted in bug 426788, and if so, would you like to do that?
Fixed URL.

Kai Liu, I posted in that bug.

This shows up on my Powerbook 17" laptop (OSX.4.12) and on a Firewire Drive also with OSX.4.12 installed attached to my G4-500 Mac Tower as well.
I think it's worthwhile to point out in the article that on Windows and Mac, the scaling kicks in only at 144 dpi (150% of normal), and that any system dpi less than 144 will avoid the problem (even 143, if the system allows it). This may be a more suitable workaround than the one suggested in the article, which bumps everything back down to 100% normal.

The same applies for Linux, except that on Linux, scaling kicks in at 192 dpi, and if someone has their dpi set *that* high, they will probably want the scaling (otherwise, the images will appear too small next to the scaled text), which makes this mostly just a Windows/Mac issue.
Kai, if you have any suggestions for the article, feel free to edit the article. It is a wiki afterall. :-)
It should also be pointed out that further discussion about the article should take place on the staging copy <http://support.mozilla.com/kb/*Toolbars+and+page+content+appear+too+large+after+upgrading+to+Firefox+3>, *not* this bug.

I've never used SUMO, nor do I know what the proper style/format of SUMO articles should be, so I'm not as comfortable with editing it, but I could give it a shot...
You'll be fine. Here's a page to help you start: <http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Editing+articles>.
In Kai Liu's Comment. He noted it was Mac/Linux issue. That May be tru but the fact is that everything including information in the Status Bar is at at least twice as large as in FF2. I use a Mac using OSX.4.11 both on a G4-500 using a FireWire Hard Drive. And also my PowerBook 17" G4-1.67GB using OSX.4.11

The fact is I have my magnification set at 100%. Not 120, 140, 200% what ever this shows up for me even at 100%
Your zoom level is not the same as your system DPI. If you are sure that your system DPI is normal and not 144 or higher, then you are probably running into a different bug, and you may want to file a separate bug about that. This article and the bugs I referenced in comment 1 are about system DPI settings.
cc me again if there's a problem with the article.
