"Open with" using a nonexistent program makes FF think it's called "(null)"

After clicking "Browse..." next to "Open with", and typing in a nonexistent program name, clicking "Open", then "OK", an alert box pops up saying, 'The application you chose ("(null)") could not be found. Check the file name or choose another application.'
This doesn't apply to Windows, which uses its native file browser, and probably not to Mac, either.

I was able to reproduce it. Just try to download something, Open with..., other, press Ctrl + L, type something random and voila. I'm on Firefox 3.0, Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron.
