Hi,
While it works in WinXP, in Kubuntu 8.04 it does not work to drag and drop a tab into the desktop, so to create a link to the webpage. Instead, it saves the URL as a text file.
Regards,
Victor
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Drag and drop a Firefox 3.0 tab into the desktop of Kubuntu 8.04
2. It opens a dialog window to choose the name for "contenidos abandonados" (in Spanish).
3. When clicking in the newly created icon, instead opening Firefox to the linked webpage, it opens Kate with the URL of the webpage in it.
Actual Results:
Don't create a link to webpage, but a text file
Expected Results:
To create a link to webpage
Sincerely, I don't know how Firefox (still) does not have an option (into the secondary mouse button click options) to create direct access or links to webpages.
To drag and drop tabs to create links to webpages, it works Ok using Konqueror.

With KDE 4.4 and Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9.2.12pre) Gecko/20101004 Namoroka/3.6.12pre,
dragging tabs to the desktop now tears them off into a new window (if there was more than one tab in the first window.
Dragging the icon in the urlbar provides the behavior expected here.
