I don't know if it is directly related to finding updates, but today after firefox found updates to my add-ons (before restarting) it's url bar froze and would not accept any entered urls. I know this happened alot in firefox 2. But this is the first time it has happened in firefox 3. This is fixed by restarting. the add-ons (I believe) had updates were:

Better G-Reader
Better Lifehacker
Better Youtube
Linkification

I hope this helps!

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Find updates for add-ons
2.do not restart immediately
3.check your URL bar
Actual Results:
URL bar would not accept an address when pressing the go button (grayed out) or by pressing ENTER.

Expected Results:
URLs should have still been allowed.
Do you have any bookmark related extensions and did this happen after opening a new empty tab?
this happens after installing updates (before a restart) all the extensions listed are javascript related, I don't know if that helps at all... I did open a new tab, but i've noticed even in existing tabs it will not let you execute new urls. The only real time this becomes a problem is in a half-completed form that you need to find information to (like an address) and you cant get to it because you can't go to a new url.
oh sorry! i thought if you were asking if any of the updated programs were bookmark related, I have two, del.icio.us Toolbar and Read it Later.
Could still be coincidental, but a lot of people with the del.icio.us toolbar extension have the same problem, and some people with this problem also have the habit to type an URL in a newly opened tab, that's why I asked these questions.
Maybe the update action triggered this bug in another way.
