Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0 Its kind of mysterious behaviour and I have just managed to find another Mac user reporting the same thing! After using Firefox 3 (mac) on Leopard for several hours at some point randomly when I try to open a new url in a new tab or even window the browser does not fetch the page at all! Status done and no page is fetched! In order recover I have to kill the process and start again! Really it happens from times to times but its constant on its behaviour! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open firefox and start browsing for several hours 2.At some point when trying to open a new url either in tab or window the browser stays idle 3.Nothing happens Expected Results: I would expect to open the url
I have also met this bug in Ubuntu , Vista and XP
OS: Mac OS X → All
Version: unspecified → 3.0 Branch
Eventually if search something in the -search bar - google will fetch some results. if you click on the links..the browser will fetch the pages
Component: General → Location Bar and Autocomplete
Does the whole window freeze so that you can not access any menu or click any button? Or does just the location bar freeze? (possible dupe of Bug 376084)
It's not like something freezes. The UI is just as responsive, it is just that entering a URL and pressing "return" or even the blue arrow at the end of the address bar that acts as the submit button, will not make firefox process the url and open the website.
Ok, then I think this is a duplicate of Bug 376084. does that sound right?
Having just read the above bug indeed sounds like a duplicate.
