This would make address autocomplete by order of magnitudes more useful. Let's just do a CONTAINS search (i. e. substring search) against all relevant fields of the contact when autocompleting addresses... Nominating wanted-thunderbird+

Completely agreed - I wanted to file this very request. I end up using the search function to find people in my address book from a particular company.
