447750 - Irregular random messages list clearing from thread pane (related with periodic TB crashes?) [compact?]

Sometime, infrequently and randomly, TB unexpectedly, without actions from user (I may focus on other application window), clears messages list pane.

This, probably, relates to TB non-periodic crashes, which hapen for all last TB releases (first subdirectory in %appdata%\Talkback\MozillaOrg\Thunderbird2\Win32\ is 2007032620; don't know how more correctly find, when first crash report was sent through talkback). Crashes also happen infrequently and randomly - TB unexpectedly reports about timeout in connecting with newsserver, and then crashes after 20 seconds.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
No known steps - pane clearing and crashes always happen unexpectedly and not correlate with user actions.

Are you now running some thing newer than w98?  
I think this could easily happen in w98.

     No.

     Easily? This is very irregular and infrequently, cured immediately just by switching to other folder. This not confirms W98 guilty.

yes, easily.  (I ran w98 as recently as 2005 on a regular basis, pushed to it's limits. And still run it occasionally on a Sony VAIO Laptop.)

this probably correlates to compact running behind the scenes

I get the same behavior running 3.0.3 on Windows XP on a Dell Precision 690 workstation.  Seems to occur only during auto compact.  Switching folders and back fixes the missing list.
