Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1
Pressing delete key affects only history, and not bookmarks.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
On empty profile
1. Type "Get" in location bar
2. Go to "Get Bookmark Add-ons" from location bar autocomplete
3. Press del
4. Repeat from 1
Actual Results:
Even if you deleted entry, it reappears again. Possibly there should be some confirmation dialog when deleting bookmark, but it should be possible to delete it.

You have to unstar it, by clicking the star and choosing "Remove Bookmark."

That would be fine answer for support forum, but I am not asking how to do thing, but reporting that functionality doesn't work as expected.

"You have to unstar it, by clicking the star and choosing "Remove Bookmark.""
Clicking on the star takes me to the site.
At any rate, I do believe there is an issue here that needs to be addressed.

So, to clarify.
Removing from the address bar, won't ever remove a bookmark. We don't want this to happen, and it won't ever happen.
When you remove from the address bar you are clearing history.
If you don't want to see bookmarks you can use the dropdown in Options/Privacy/Locationbar.
If you want to remove a bookmark you can either click the star when you are on the page and choose "remove bookmark", or find the bookmark in the bookmarks menu, right click and remove it, or find the bookmark in sidebar select it and delete it, or find the bookmark in Library (Show all bookmarks) and delete it.
As it is, this is not a bug, everything is working as it was intended.

Have you read comment #2?
Anyway, what you can see from the bug is several people reporting this as working not as expected. Now if you want to claim that it is intended and it is fine, then intentions might be wrong.
User experience is the final aim and not design principles.
Obviously, this is not something many users are experiencing, as deleting history with del from drop-down is probably not widely used procedure.
Could you say why opposite is better, what do you think user expects when he deletes something from drop-down?

User expects it to disappear from the dropdown, but he does not expect a bookmark to be removed, since he did not remove a bookmark expicitly.
So if we remove the bookmark it is dataloss, if we hide it the user will think that the url has gone, when instead there is a bookmark that could hurt his privacy.
Sure, a confirm dialog could ask to the user, but usually it's hard to get these kind of dialogs in the product because they interrupt user's flow.

if someone deletes something he expects it not to see it forever. and it includes bookmarks
generally speaking, if there is a privacy problem or whatever other reason user does not want to see it (or someone else to see it) in history, why would it be expected that he still wants to see it in bookmarks?
But more important, you can think of other applications. If email is flagged somehow (including to do or important or whatever), it is very easy to be deleted. or even better try to star something in gmail and delete it. What happens? Item is just deleted. Google Picasa? The same... Possibly there is something in human perception why this is normal, but even if it is not the case, then long history of such applications made people expect things like that.
