User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008071615 Fedora/3.0.1-1.fc9 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: I think "Confirm when using keyboard shortcut to send message" is more an advanced feature than a general feature. I therefore propose it is moved to Advanced->General. See mock up. Reproducible: Always

I agree, it should probably remain where it is. @Martin, what makes you think it is "more an advanced feature than a general feature"? The text Wrap then is advanced, if the confirmation is, by my idea.
OS: Linux → All
Hardware: PC → All
To Comment #3 Because it would be advanced users that would care about this setting. I most users are "mouse only" users that icons, so they would never use this option.
Correction. The last sentence should have been: "The most users are "mouse only" users, that only clicks on what they can see, so they would never use this option."

I like this move, though keep the adv. config editor at the very bottom please. What happens with this pref is that the keyboard user gets hit with the prompt and can select [x] "Don't warn me again". Then if they wanted to undo that change they'd have to find the preference, which I think is reasonable to be under advanced. I'm going to make the assumption that opening up the preferences dialog, going to the composition and unchecking this pref is more difficult than just pressing ctrl-enter and checking the checkbox. The non-keyboard person who hit ctrl-enter by accident would have to check the "don't warn me" box to lose the dialog stopping them from sending in the future.

But is there any reason to keep where it is? And it should probably be over the return receipt section too, if moved.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
To Comment #6 Just wondering. Could there be made arguments for removing the option from the UI? To Comment #7 Why do you think it should be moved to Return Receipt section? I would say that Return Receipt belongs in the Privacy tab just like allowing loading of images.

No, it would adversely affect the user experience. Like in Comment #6, it should still be there in case someone wants to be alerted when they send with the keyboard. It is the same as the Firefox Warning Messages options. It should be over the Return just for the sake of GUI appearance. It should maybe even be over the "Open messages", and grouped with the other checkboxes. No, Return does not belong in Privacy, it is an advanced option that is not really related to Privacy to deserve a move to Privacy. So, no, leave the Return.

I'm still planning on moving this out to Adv. -> General. Now that the general area has been cleaned up I think we can place this option with the return receipts, grouping them under a 'Composition' label. Target b3, but not blocking in case I run out of time.

I've had this lying around for a while and was just cleaning out the queue.
