User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1
The Caret Browsing message window appears every time you press F7, if you have never answered "Yes". If you check "Do not show me this dialogue again", it will still show you the dialogue if you then answer "No" to the message, and press F7 again.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press F7. (assuming you have never answered "yes" with the box checked beforehand)
2. Check the box for "Do not show this dialogue again"
3. Click "No"
4. Press F7 again.
Actual Results:
Pressing F7 shows the dialogue again.
Expected Results:
Pressing F7 should not show the dialogue again, if the box has been checked.
Occurs on Mac OS X with a custom theme, as well as under Windows XP with a fresh install. Likely occurs on any installation and system.

What do you want to happen the next time you press F7? Do you want Firefox to act you like you clicked "No" again and ignore F7 (cf bug 334169), or do you want it to enter caret browsing mode?

I (and I assume anyone else that does this) would like it to choose 'no' again after that.
As Peter said, I'd want it to remember what option I chose in that dialog.
I never tried the 'Yes' option. But from reading another bug report I took that it actually does remember when you check the box and then choose 'Yes'. Clearly the same should happen if you choose 'No'.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 4 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). Also, ensure you have the most up to date graphics drivers, operating system updates, and plugin versions (flash, java, etc). If you continue to see this issue with the newest Firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
