Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.15 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.17pre (20080811) I use thunderbird to get mail from a pop3 account. When thunderbird is started, it automatically checks for new mail and I get the password prompt. If I enter a wrong password, there is no error message and no new password prompt. The main window just hangs with the message: "Connect: Host contacted, sending login information". To unlock it, I must restart TB and enter the correct password. If I asked TB to remember the wrong password, the same happens, and I have to go to the Privacy options, remove the saved password and restart TB to get the password prompt. Some kind of error pop-up would be helpful. The best would be to prompt for the password again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start TB 2.Get Mail 3.Enter a wrong password Actual Results: Mail not retreived from server. Main window shows the "Connect: Host contacted, sending login information" message Expected Results: Some error message indicating the problem is/could be linked to a bad password. Prompt again for the password if possible.
This is a dupe of something, IIRC...

Dup of Bug 428611. See also Bug 429069 for phenomenon with different command for login, upon similar situation(wrong password + RFC violation by POP3 server).
