Details

Hi, at first thunderbird startup, account setup manager does not ask if user wants to delete messages on server or deletes them after download. By default, it deletes messages when downloading them. If user wants to leave messages on server, he must uncheck "download messages now", and go to account settings to check "leave messages on server". As an email provider, we advise people to use thunderbird, but we often get feedbacks from our users who just wanted to give a try to thunderbird, and ended deleting all their mails from the webmail. So, it would be nice to make it easier to just try thunderbird without loosing data. One way to do would be to leave messages on server by default, or to make it possible to choose behaviour in account manager wizard. I assume some other people feel the same way about this issue, so this bug may be a dupe, but I found for one and did not found.
I meant : I *looked* for one of course
Bug 231541 and a few similar.
