Bug 447604 discussed leaving the QA "recent checkins" in one item but opening two tabs. Due to clunkiness of our code we couldn't do that for 2.0a1, but it's still something we should go for. One function added in bug 370698 should help a lot there.
If we do this, I'd recommend multiple tabs, DOMi, and CVS checkins ;-)
